The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) movie is peaks the Greek director (Yorgos Lanthimos), although at first the viewer can be fooled into thinking that he veered toward a more natural style. This scary movie, which takes part in the Best Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival, starring Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman identified as a character simply titled “Surgeon” and ” Surgeon’s Wife “just rich parents from two children, Bob (Sonny Soljek) and kim (raffey Cassidy). Families live in ordinary, affluent US suburbs and seem to be mostly normal, id a little formal to one another.

The whole facade is destroyed by the arrival of a teenage boy named Martin (Barry Kugan), whose father died at the surgeon’s operating table. Sense of responsibility, the boy has met since his father died and tried to watch it. But Martin has a different design on the family and this is the Lanthemos’s film, safe to guess it will not end well. At the end of the Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) movie, someone mentions the myth of Greek Iphigenia, which along with the title of the film, is the key that unlocks the whole puzzle.

There are so many versions of the Greek Iphigenia myth. The basic version starts when the Agamemnon (Greek leader), when preparing his fleet to sail to Troy, inadvertently killed deer in a grove which is very sacred to Artemis, the goddess of hunting. She punished him by thwarting his fleet plan. Confused, Agamemnon asked for help from the pier, who told him that to turn the tide he had to sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia. Initially rejected, but with the growth of the situation began to reconsider. In many versions of the legend, Iphigenia herself catches the demands of the gods and appealed to his father in order to sacrifice his life.

The result of this movie is a completely modern mythological legend (with just a touch of Macbeth swirled to measure it), and this is terrible. There is a goddess of revenge latent on the corner somewhere in this film. The result is discouraging. But this is very scary, a cautionary tale of neglected and horror films that suggest a world without real good. The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) movie by Yorgos Lanthimos is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 3, 2017.
