The Foreigner (2017) is an English spy film written by David Marconi based on Chinaman’s 1992 leather novel and directed by Martin Campbell. The British Chiness production stars Pierce Brosnan as Liam Hennessy, Jackie Chan as Quan, Orla Brady as Mary, Charlie Murphy as Maggie, Katie Leung as fan and Leo Tao Keyi Lan, Rufus Jones as Woody, Roberta Taylor as Mrs. taylor, Dermot Crowley as MC Grath. The film is a timely action thriller from the director of Casino Royale. This film tells the story of a London businessman who is humble, Quan (Chan), who buried the last erupted in revenge fueled retaliation when the only person left to be loved, his teenage daughter took him from unreasonable actions of terrorism. In this relentless search for identity terrorists, Quan is forced to cat and mouse conflict with the British government official (Brosnan), which may hold evidence about the past elusive murderer’s identity.
With a very sensitive PC environment, imagine owned by the STX entertainment dilemma when trying to give the title of this title. Based on the novel “The Chinamen”, this film may not be very good if it is marketed under the same name. Play safely, the studio went instead with an er-less, geospecific title. The Foreigner (2017) is directed by Martin Campbell. If the name seems familiar, it should be. This is the same manager who gave us an awesome Royal Casino, the Terrible Green Lantern. Very terrible that he gets an absence for six years of briefing, this is his return. In fact, cinematography is all over the map. But we forgive some of his speed partly because he was in the director chair for the mask of Zorro, who was really amused.
Apparently, Campbell was also not the first choice. Instead, the studio premiered for Nick Casavets. Given that he already has three productions in the calendar, it makes sense if he does not devote time to others. Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, are interesting pairing for sure, but they look very comfortable sharing the screen. And, while the film presents itself the same as the story of the type of Aftermath, but with Chan and not Schwarzenegger, the action will happen in the second half. That’s all about The Foreigner (2017).
